Director of Human Resources

Sunnyvale seeks an experienced public sector HR professional and change champion to serve as its next Director of Human Resources. Located in Santa Clara County, the City of Sunnyvale is a center of technology and innovation and home to quiet family neighborhoods, a vibrant downtown, strong schools, and a diverse community.

As a member of the Executive Team, the Director functions as a collaborative business partner and oversees a talented team of 21 in a full-service HR Department. This accomplished professional will have well-rounded, deep relevant HR experience and risk management expertise. The successful candidate will bring an approachable, positive presence, a record of establishing productive relationships, including those with labor groups, and experience developing a shared vision aligned with strategic organizational priorities.

Highly qualified candidates will have six years of Human Resources management experience, including two years of supervisory experience, along with a Bachelor’s degree in a related field. Master’s degree and public sector experience are desired.
